An Open Book

A few days ago, I got a crazy notion to open my work to some broader critiques. I'm entering into a writing contest at the end of the week. While I've gotten several critiques from fellow writing friends, I've never gotten a full response from someone that genuinely loves fantasy and maybe doesn't look for the tiny cracks in the prose.

You've made it to my blog, so I have to assume you care at least a little about my writing.....

I'm looking for people that are fans of fantasy. No, Twilight doesn't count as fantasy. Not even close.

This is how it will work--

Send me a private message via Facebook and let me know that you're interested. I'm on a very limited time schedule, so I'll probably only need 3 or 4 beta readers.

I'll send those beta readers my first 15 pages in Microsoft Word.

Beta readers will read it, critique it, and tell me what they honestly think of it. (Honesty is the key in this. If you think it's awful, or it's too similar to something else, I want to know. The greatest disservice a reader could do me is give a dishonest critique.)

By 11:59pm on the 18th, you'll send it back to me with your comments.

To say thank-you, I'll crochet you a scarf and mail it to you. You can't be picky about the color because I'm going to use yarn that I already have.

If this sounds like something that interests you, shoot me a message. :)
